Copyright and Image Use Policy
The purpose of this policy is to protect the integrity of my work and the trust of my clients. By respecting copyright, both clients and visitors help to maintain a fair creative environment where professional photography is valued rather than exploited.
Ownership of Photographs
Every photograph displayed on this website, in my portfolio, or on any associated online or printed platform is the result of my own work and is protected under copyright law. None of these photographs may be downloaded, copied, reproduced, printed, altered, or used in any way without my explicit written permission.
Client Rights
The photographs I create for paying clients are delivered to those clients with full rights to use them as they wish. Once the final images have been supplied, the client may publish them online, print them, crop them, apply filters, or otherwise adapt them, without needing to seek my further consent. The photographs are theirs to use for both personal and commercial purposes. I do not place any watermark or restriction on the delivered images unless specifically agreed in advance.
Right to Showcase My Work
However, I reserve the right to use a selection of those photographs to showcase my work to future clients. This is done using lower resolution copies of the images to protect the client’s commercial interests and to ensure that the photographs cannot be used directly by others for their own purposes. These low-resolution images may appear on my website, social media accounts, printed marketing materials, or in professional portfolios, and will always be presented in a manner that is respectful to the client and their brand.
If a client prefers that their photographs are not displayed publicly under any circumstances, this can be discussed before the work begins. In such cases, I am happy to arrange a written agreement ensuring that the images will remain private. This agreement must be made in advance and may involve an additional fee to cover the loss of the right to use the work for marketing purposes.
Unauthorised Use
Anyone is welcome to view my portfolio and enjoy the photographs I have shared. These images are intended to showcase my style and the quality of my work, and I ask that they are appreciated in that spirit. Although they are visible online, they remain protected by copyright law, which means they cannot be copied, downloaded, printed, or used for other purposes without my written permission.
